The holiday season is quickly approaching. Have you started thinking about gift shopping yet? It is best to start shopping early to get the best deals on gifts without having to rush right before the holidays and chance items being out of stock.
I was recently introduced to Offers.com which is an excellent one stop shopping tool. They offer everything from coupon codes to free shopping offers. One really nice feature of this website is My Offers Locker. With this tool you can save offers (such as coupons, trials, etc.) and receive alerts in your email when offers change or are added by your favorite stores. Another cool feature? You can order items that are TV offers. Did you see something on TV that you thought would make a great gift for someone but aren’t sure if you can get a better deal than what you saw on TV? Offers.com can help you find offers for that special product you’re looking for.
I’ve started my holiday gift browsing this week on Offers.com and am considering buying some items here within the next few weeks. I know, it is early, but I want to get the best deals before it’s too late!

I was recently introduced to this great website called Coupon Trunk! They offer coupon codes, discounts, promotions, and free shipping offers — all at your finger tips for FREE.
Maybe you’re in the market for some new clothes so you need some Macy’s coupons. Or perhaps you need new contacts and need a cheap solution to a quality product and could use some 1-800 Contacts coupons.

Kyle over at Hit The Tech! writes about PC tips and tweaks and has two articles on his site that may be of interest to some of you!
His article, Free Antivirus Software, gives you 4 different FREE software downloads to help protect your computer from viruses and spyware. My personal favorite from this list is AVG Free. It works great and hasn’t ever let me down with blocking viruses and spyware!
And his article, 19 Must Have Portable Apps, lists 19 different applications that can be run from a USB drive. No clogging up your computer with programs that you don’t use on a regular basis. All applications in this article are also FREE to download and use. One of my personal favorites from this list is CCleaner. It does an awesome job of cleaning up your hard drive to acquire more space — and it does it safely so that nothing gets deleted that you’d need later on.

Being a freebie-junkie I receive a lot of mail. And I live with 3 other people who share the same, tiny (apartment sized) mailbox. I receive the most mail out of everyone in my household — and with that I receive mail everyday. Now this isn’t a bad thing, because I love receiving mail!
A year ago I was receiving at least 3 pre-approved credit card offers in the mail…a day. It became very annoying and was making my paper shredder very tired. I searched the internet for ways to reduce my junk mail in-take and found a few ways to help reduce it. And even a year later I still don’t receive any unwanted pre-approved offers that aren’t any good to begin with.
The following services are all reputable and trustworthy sites. I’ve used them all and have had success with reducing my junk mail. All services are also free.
- OptOutPrescreen.com :: If you receive lots of pre-approved credit card offers and want it to stop, this is the site you’ll want to visit. You have a few options through this site — opt-out electronically (through the site) for 5 years, opt-out permanently by mailing in a form, or you can opt-in to receive these types of offers in your mail.
** This does not opt you out from receiving coupons such as from Money Mailer or any other services besides pre-approved/-screened offers. **
- Catalog Choice :: Are you sick of receiving Newport News every week and don’t even know how you got on their mailing list? Catalog Choice can help you eliminate those catalogs that you receive and have no interest in. Maybe you enjoy receiving catalogs from certain companies but would rather receive email newsletters to help save the environment and reduce your mailbox load — Catalog Choice can help you do that too! This service is quick to sign up for and easy to navigate. Once you’re signed up you just search for the catalog that you’d like to discontinue receiving in your mail, click “set mail preference”, fill out the quick form, and you’re done!
- DMA Choice :: The DMA (Direct Marketing Association) is a company that provides research and advocasy for direct mailers. They also provide a service for consumers to opt-out of receiving direct mailers in four categories: credit offers, catalogs, magazine offers, and other offers (which includes retail and bank). This site allows you to opt-out all together from all mailings or you can choose which you’d like to stop receiving from a list of companies.
