Tax season means sorting through the past year’s jumble of papers that never got filed and mail that is still sitting on your counter, looking for everything that you need to file on time. But wouldn’t it be nice if you could be ready for tax season with everything organized and in one place where you can find it all? It’s simple, and all it takes is some office supplies.

I am naturally an OCD organizer. I love all things office supplies. I actually buy way too much really. When there’s a good deal on something (like 75% off or more), I can’t help but buy. I know I’ll use it because I organize everything. So let me help you.

Carolina Pad is a company that offers a wide variety of all sorts of office supplies. The best part about their products is that they’re very attractive. No more plain manila folders and envelopes. Think stripes, circles, and dots…in bright colors!

I was sent 6 items from Carolina Pad to help me organize for tax season. I received (pictured above) a 13 pocket expandable file, 12 file folders, a 26 pocket expandable file, an 8 pocket organizational folder, 6 large binder clips, and 10 paper clips. These items are all from the 2009 Hot Chocolate collection. Let me tell you how I use mine.

26 Pocket Expandable File — This file is huge, and I love it! I organized all of my financial paperwork in this portable file (love the handle). The sections I have labeled are banks, credit cards, jobs, and blog. I have each company in their own file, so it’s a lot easier for me to search through and file quickly. I also used my label maker to label each pocket.

13 Pocket Expandable File — I designated this file for current taxes (meaning 2010). Each pocket is labeled accordingly — receipts from Chris’ freelance job, pay stubs from affiliates for the blog, Chris’ pay stubs from his freelance job, my scholarship information, etc. (anything that we’ll need when we file our taxes next year). I love this file because it’s not too big and can be conveniently stored somewhere that you can file into often, such as your desk, in the kitchen, etc. We have ours on our desk. When it’s visible, it’s easier to remember to file. Especially since the file is so bright and beautiful!

12 File Folders — I have a small paper inbox (a rectangle with a hole in it) that I stood up and stuck the file folders in. I labeled them for bills and we stick the bills, as they come in from the mailbox, in each folder and once a week sit down and sort through them and pay them. Thursday is bill day!

8 Pocket Organizational Folder — This folder is awesome! The pages are durable-double sided pockets…that won’t tear out! I set up my folder for school. On Sunday’s I go through each of my syllabuses and see what’s up for the week (what to read, write, create, etc.) and file any notes, assignments, etc. in each folder, which I labeled by day. It helps me not forget what I need to do. If you’re not going to school you can use it for your weekly to do folder. Anything that you need to do for yourself (maybe you need to remember to send in that mail-in-rebate), your kids (field trip forms, calendars, etc.), or even menu planning (if you use a system that designates each day to a specific meal — meaning Monday’s are always pasta, Tuesday’s are always skillet meals, etc., — you could keep recipes that you’d like to try out in each of the designated days folders).

6 Large Binder Clips & 10 Paper Clips — I used these items with each of the items above. It’s nice to be able to fold together all of my papers that are filed in the expandable files so that I can just reach in and pull out the stack to go through, rather than pulling out paper, after paper.

I really like Carolina Pad products. They make organizing easier and catch your eye to remind you to keep up with it! All of these products appear to be very durable (I did some testing).

Carolina Pad items are available in their online store (you can save 10% on your order with code Tax_Relief), at Wal-Mart, Target, Staples, and many other locations.

Are you looking for a delicious alternative for going out for Chinese food? I love Chinese and didn’t like making it at home because it wouldn’t ever turn out right. Wanchai Ferry makes frozen entrees for two that come complete with all of the ingredients needed to make your meal.

I was given the opportunity from Wanchai Ferry through My Blog Spark to try the Wanchai Ferry Orange Chicken frozen entree. The meal kit came complete with chicken, rice, vegetables, and a tangy orange glaze. The meal was very easy to make and only took about 15 minutes. The flavor of the meal was also really good and it turned out just like it would at a Chinese restaurant. I was really impressed! The only thing that I disliked about this product is that it’s made for two people, but it wasn’t very filling.

Wanchai Ferry frozen entrees are currently available in the freezer case at Target. If you’re interested in trying this product, there is a coupon on Wanchai Ferry’s website for $1.50 off a frozen entree. You can also get some great meal tips to enhance your meal on the Wanchai Ferry website.

Giveaway ::

Wanchai Ferry through My Blog Spark has offered to giveaway Perfect Night In prize pack to 1 lucky reader. The prize pack includes one VIP coupon valid for a free package of any of the Wanchai Ferry frozen entrees, in addition to a set of great Asian-inspired rice bowls, chopsticks, bamboo placemats, flavored fortune cookies, and a $25 Target gift card (all pictured above). The giveaway will end on March 7 @ 9 PM MT. Please read all rules below before entering!

Achieve Anything In Just One Year: Be Inspired Daily to Live Your Dreams and Accomplish Your Goals by Jason Harvey is an inspiring book that can help you change your life one day at a time. This book is intended to be read on a daily basis (one page per day) for a whole year. Each day begins with an inspiring quote (which I love), and follows with questions to get your mind pondering, a mini lesson, and an “assignment” for the day. I really like that this book is meant to be taken one day at a time. I feel that too often self improvement books are meant to be read all at once and it’s usually a lot of information to take in at the same time. So you read the book in a week, take it all in, and forget half of it because of the massive amount of content and end up with no help that you were looking for to begin with. But this book is different. With only one page to read a day, the message is short, but very powerful and motivating.

I have only been reading this book for two weeks now (I began on February 8) and I have already learned quite a bit about myself. On day 1 your assignment is to begin a notebook of dreams in which you write down everything you wish to do, even if it seems impossible at the time. This notebook has shown me some new sides of me — new things I never would have thought I’d like to do, which is very interesting. I really enjoy the critical thinking questions that are asked each day. Some of them I have even written down in a notebook, along with my answer. Self discovery is important to me, so I’m glad that I was introduced to this book and I feel as though I’m on a positive journey forward in my life.

Achieve Anything In Just One Year is an excellent tool for learning how to set goals and stick to them and staying motivated throughout the year to achieve your goals. Even though self improvement books tend to have a negative stigma attached, you shouldn’t let that stop you from reading them. Not all self improvement books need to be embarrassing to be seen reading, especially this one. If anything, this book can help you feel more confident about yourself and you can begin to help motivating others through what you learn.

At first I was nervous to install Norton Internet Security 2010 on my PC. I’ve used Norton software in the past and it was a huge system hog. Big turn off for me. I use my computer at least 10 hours a day, so I need the guarantee that my anti-virus program won’t slow me down.

Norton Internet Security 2010 has actually surprised me — in a good way. It was very simple to download and install. I haven’t noticed a difference in the way my computer runs since installing this software. Before installing I was having issues with viruses popping up on my PC out of nowhere. Since installing NIS 2010, I have been completely virus free.

The reason I didn’t give this product 5 stars is because I’ve had one issue with it. Last weekend I downloaded a program, which I knew was safe, and NIS 2010 automatically blocked and deleted the program. Every time I try to reinstall, the same thing happens. I can’t figure out how to unblock something. I’ve checked everywhere for an answer and have had no luck.

I would recommend this product to others. It’s a good tool for keeping you and your family safe while on the internet.

Valentine’s Day is this weekend! Are you looking for something unique and special to give this year? Scrapblog may be your answer! They offer singles (pictured above) for just under $2 that you can completely design yourself. You can share your creation via email or Facebook and/or order printed cards. This is a great idea for a last minute card for Grandma or your sister.

Wondering what the process to create something on Scrapblog is like? It’s so easy! (Seriously!) First you upload your pictures — which you can load from your PC, Facebook account (or even a friend’s picture album on Facebook), Flickr, or other select photo storage sites. Next, choose a design template or create your own. Just drag and drop each piece into place. And wah-la! You’re done! On Friday I created a Keepsake book for my fiance that has photos of us throughout the past 6 years. I can’t wait to get it in the mail and give it to him! (See my creation below.)

Right now if you try out their QuickMix tool you can receive 150 credits free! (I used QuickMix to create my Keepsake book.) What are credits for? You can use them to “purchase” premium content. (Most of Scrapblog’s content is free though.)

Although this was not my first time using Scrapblog, I really enjoyed trying out their new services and would recommend this website. (I created the free Mother’s Day card with them last year, which turned out beautifully.) It’s fun and easy to use. But best of all…Scrapblog is free for creating and sharing creations online.

Are you new to free sample & coupon hunting on the internet? Or maybe you’re just looking for a site that can be your daily resource for free samples & coupons. Let me introduce you to MySavings! About a year ago when I began my freebie & coupon hunt online I started using MySavings.

MySavings has a variety of different sections on their site — from free samples to printable coupons, you can find a lot of great resources on this site. I really enjoy the free sample section because each item listed shows you what country the freebie is valid in. (Yes Canada, they serve you too!) You don’t have to worry about going through dead freebies either because dead links are reported and removed! (One of my favorite features.) MySavings also has a great section for printable coupons. This section has printable coupons for restaurants, groceries, & retail stores. A large variety are added daily.

MySavings is a valuable site that I highly recommend you check out. They can help you save money on a daily basis with their compiled lists of free samples & printable coupons!
