I recently signed up for a bunch of Amazon e-newsletters so that I could get great deals right in my inbox. One of the e-newsletters I receive is The Amazon MP3 Download. Amazon, like many other companies such as Napster and iTunes, offers digital music for purchase and download off of their site. But what’s really nice about Amazon’s MP3′s are they’re playable on any device. And what’s even nicer? How about 879 FREE MP3 downloads! You can preview and download without having to download software onto your computer, which is always a plus! Just choose what you want, download it to a folder (perhaps under ‘My Documents’ and ‘My Music’), and import it into your music player. And no matter what you use — Windows Media Player, Zune, iTunes, Napster, etc. — your free download will work because it’s in MP3 form! (And you don’t have to worry about it “expiring” and not playing in a month — there are NO strings attached with Amazon!)
Now you may not find really popular artists in this free catalog of music, but it gives you a chance to discover new music. And who knows, maybe that freebie “Energy” by The Apples in Stereo will be a hit on the radio this summer at some point.
